A Butterfly Valve is a “quarter-turn” rotational motion valve used to stop, regulate, or start the flow of a fluid.

Unlike a ball valve, which uses a rotating sphere with a hole, a butterfly valve uses a flat disc that rotates around a central axis. It is highly favored for its thin, space-saving design and lower cost compared to other valve types, especially in large pipe diameters.
